This is really scary as most of the business conversations are carried out through Skype from over a decade and it now makes the businesses feel uncomfortable and vulnerable.
Speaking about this, one of the spokespeople of Microsoft says, "We realised, based on questions raised recently, that we could do a better job specifying that humans sometimes review this content".
He says that they have updated the privacy policy which intends to mention that this eavesdropping of the conversations is to improvize the capabilities of the AI engine, Cortana over time.
"Our processing of personal data for these purposes includes both automated and manual (human) methods of processing. Our automated methods often are related to and supported by our manual methods.", says Microsoft's privacy statement.
According to the reports, Microsoft pays $12 to $14 a person per hour who listens to 200 conversations and transcribes them into readable text in an hour.
This brings us to no surprise as we have seen Google, Apple and Amazon doing the same, paying the transcribers to eavesdrop the private conversations for the sake of business.
Apple after being heavily criticized despite its privacy concerns about its users since the beginning, have stopped listening to Siri conversations in Europe according to the reports.
In a world where privacy is a mere reality, the conversations better are done in personal meetings in most possible cases. Every bit of data sent through the calling apps won't assure you any safety. This is an undeniable fact of technological evolution. Stay safe!
