Android Lollipop v5.0 has got noticeable upgrades from Android 4.4.4 like materialistic design, battery life control, and better multi-tasking. The joy of having new operating system didn’t last long. Developers and users have found several annoying miscellaneous bugs that spoiled the initial impressions on the Android operating system.
Google, after working on Lollipop v5.0 bugs, introduced v5.0.2 which was not completely a bug free version. Later, Android v5.1.1 was released with all the bug fixes in v5.0 and thus putting full stop to lollipop.
Lollipop 5.1 update for Asus Zenfone 2
Though the bug free version of lollipop was released half an year ago on to many other stock android devices, the Zenfone 2 devices with custom UI have not got it yet. The reason is that Asus Zenfone 2 uses customized UI, the Zen UI which has to be updated by the Asus itself. The situation with stock android devices is different. We’ve been seeing the responses from Asus customer support saying that they have no news about the Lollipop v5.1 update every time. Also, we’ve seen the fans getting frustrated and disappointed with the vague responses from Asus.
The last hopeful news update from Asus to a fan was as followed,
“I understand that you are eager to get lollipop 5.1 but it is in his final testing soon we will get the date of release then we can tell you the exact” – Customer support (back in July, 2015)
We’ve been tracking for the update very regularly and got a positive response yesterday. They said,
“I apologize but we do not have any information from our team about the 5.1 update for Zenfone. But there is might be strong possibility of it.” – Sumit, Asus customer support (Sep 19th, 2015)
So, there is nothing to worry about lollipop v5.1 update to Zenfone devices. It might take a little time and when it happens, Asus Zenfone 2 would be the choice of many more Android lovers.
C’mon Asus! Don’t let us wait much!
