What is Facebook Virus?
‘Facebook Virus’!! sounds catchy right? It may catch your profile too. Getting to the point of what the virus is actually, Facebook virus is not that virus that is transmitted from the Facebook servers.

The virus is actually the adware that comes along with the software you have installed. Most of the third party software comes with adware during download. You should care installed it on your computer rather than just clicking a couple of ‘next’s. The adware is useless and can spy on you and your data to the hacker. I recommend you to know more about adware/spyware if you are a rookie to computers.
Are they Facebook ads?
You might see some banner ads popping up when you are browsing your Facebook wall. If you believe them to be Facebook ads, that means you are walking blindfolded on the rope between two cliffs. They aren't Facebook ads at all. Facebook never allows such popping, distracting, misleading hover ads on the user profiles.
How does Adware behave?
The adware targeted on Facebook might look like offering you some special features of Facebook like who viewed your timeline or pick out your own theme. Facebook talks about this issue. It says,
“ Some programs claim that they can give you special features on Facebook like seeing who viewed your Timeline or picking out your own Timeline theme. Most of these features don't exist, and these programs require you to download software that can cover your Timeline with ads, make your pages load slowly and compromise your security.
Facebook ads don't appear as banners in the center, top or left sidebar of Facebook Pages. If you're seeing banner ads in these locations, or ads that flash or play sound automatically, you may have adware. To remove it, review the add-ons or toolbars that you've enabled for your browser and disable any plugin that promises special browsing abilities (like Timeline themes or seeing who's viewing your Timeline).”
