This time I am here with a gadget review. I know you love to read it. Who else don’t love gadgets!! This is an exceptional value-for-money phablet, which is none other than Micromax Yu Yureka.
Micromax was out of talk for almost 3-4 months because of the surprise packs brought by Xiaomi, Oppo and One plus one. But OMG!! This is really called back with a bang. Yu Yureka is currently the most customizable phone in Indian market (One plus one is not available today).
Before launching this product, Micromax was smart enough to seize the selling of One plus one, which is the major and similar competitor of Yureka. So this is the only one with Cyanogen mode here.

Build and design
The phone has 5.5 inch IPS HD display (720x 1280P) with corning gorilla glass 3 protection. Volume button is placed on the left, power button right, 3.5 mm audio jack on top and micro USB charging port on the base.
Even though this is a phablet, not possessing much weight.

Features
Every phone has a processor. It is the brain. So, it is necessary to have a powerful processor.
Micromax used MediaTek for their smartphones earlier. But this time they came with Qualcomm Snapdragon which is superior in functionality to the former one.
The phone is power packed by Snapdragon 615 Octacore chip clocked at 1.5 GHz. Octa-core processors are the best among all others. So, I am sure this will not let you down.
Don’t worry about the RAM. This phone never lags due to insufficient memory. It has 2 GB DDR3 RAM. Happy now?
GPU is the next topic to talk about. You are a crazy gamer, right? I know how many times you tapped your phone for this purpose. So visual comfort is a must-thing for you.
This phone consists of an Adreno 405 graphics card clocked at 550 MHz. Just rock with Temple run and Subway surf, buddy JJ.
Are you a selfie addict or love to take pics on your phone? Don’t be amazed, my friend. This phone has the rear camera of 13 MP (have a glance at price section; your eyes will pop out for sure). The front camera is 5 MP which is enough to take decent selfies.
Internal memory is 16 GB, out of which 12.6 GB is available for the user. If you are so much hungry, then a 32 GB SD card is enough for you.
The phone’s packet is loaded with the handset, adapter, data cable, battery, and earphone.
Don’t forget, this Micromax phone also is a dual SIM type supporting 3G as well as 4G.
Software
This is the part you are going to love the most. As I told earlier, this phone has Android KitKat 4.4.4 with Cyanogen mode 11 ROM.
Android is already customizable. But this phone lets you customize all the things on it, at an unbelievable price.
Micromax added some good apps with it by default. They are not botwares (crappy apps) for sure. AudioFx which enhances the audio output, screencast to record phone screen and their browser Yuniverse based on Opera.
We can customize Android with awesome themes, can’t we? But can we use the icons from a theme and wallpaper from another theme to create a unique one by ourselves? To my knowledge, ‘No’. Not yet with the stock ROM. But we can do it on Yureka. Stay amazed my friend ;)
We can change boot animation from setting tab and can pin widgets on the lock screen.

Performance
How is it possible to poorly perform a phone with an Octa-core processor that too a Snapdragon’s? Of course not – This phone is especially for those who consistently multi-task.
Touch response is again very good. You won’t sacrifice anything with call quality. It is superb. Earphones are decent, but not up to the mark (will see in cons).
Benchmark scores are better than RedMi. Isn’t it?
Camera
This awesome phone has a 13 MP rear camera with a 5 MP front camera. An LED flash is also available. Don’t forget to snap your special occasions, buddy. Your companion will be on the way in your hand.
Daylight taking is very good for the camera. It also has an HDR mode that gives more quality to your images. Many filters are also available. This reduces the use of third-party apps, I think.
The camera is also capable of recording HD videos. 1080P at 30 fps (frames per second) and 720P at 120 fps.
Battery life
Yu Yureka has a 2500 mAh battery which is enough for a phablet. It sustains the charge for almost 12 hours on regular usages like some calling, browsing, gaming and some video playback.
Price and availability
I know you are anxious to get an overview of the price. Aren’t you? You can get this phone at 8,999 INR which is around just $150 only!

Cons
1. The camera is not up to the mark even though is a 13 MP. It is seen that we can’t convert the extra pixels to quality. (don’t bother much because, for this price level, the camera is excellent)
2. The battery is also a topic of concern. At first, you seem the phone is a power eating monster. But after some usage, it will not disappoint you (according to trusted users).

Final Verdict
You should definitely buy it, if you have a limited budget around 10k. This one is the best phone for you.
If you are not looking for a phablet, then don’t go for this. Because it’s screen size is 5.5 inch and cannot fit in your pocket.
I promise this phone will not be a worry for you. As Samsung says Micromax Yu Yureka will be a life companion for you. You will not get this much feature within 10k.
