Creating & Editing Blog Posts in Blogger | Blogger Basics

The next thing you need to learn after creating a blog is how to post in it. Posting in a blog is not just putting some  information static pages just like you see in most of websites on the web. You can publish as many articles as you want and there is no limit to it. Moreover blogger is designed and developed in that way only. Blogs with high publishing frequency would be considered prior to those which doesn't.

Creating a New Blog Post in Blogger

  • Go to www.blogger.com and 'Login' with your 'Google' account.
  • Click on the blog shown to enter in to its control panel.
  • Click on the 'New Post' button. This will open blogger editor.
  • Give your blog post an attractive 'Title'. As you can see, the title of this post "Lesson 2: Creating & Editing Blog Posts in Blogger | Blogger Basics" above.

  • Type the content of the blog post. See the screenshot below for Demo.

When you are done with the content, do consider customizing post settings.

Customizing Post Settings

Adding Labels

Labels are the categories which would structure blog posts for easy navigation. For Eg., Hacking is a label I use for those articles in which I write about hacking. Windows 8 is a label I use for my articles related to Windows 8 operating system.

You can categorize your posts with any sort of word in labels. Remember that there a limitation to this labels count. You can only create 2000 labels for a blog and not a single label more than that. Though 2000 is not a bad figure, I recommend you to choose wisely while Creating 'Labels'.

Scheduling Blog Posts

You can also schedule blog posts to future dates. If you want your article to be posted on a particular date in future, simply choose date and time of posting.

Customizing Permalink

Permalink is URL of your blog post. "http://www.amfastech.com/2014/03/lesson-1-how-to-create-new-blog-blogger.html" is the URL of the Lesson 1 post. You can customize it as you want. We'll see more about this option in advanced tutorials.
