‘How To Change Facebook Theme Within 60 Seconds’ is a spam

There is no scarcity of Facebook spams these days. Old spam with the new disguised face is circulating through the profiles spreading virally. If you notice a link with a screenshot saying ‘How To Change Facebook Theme Within 60 Sec by Prince..x3::##’, stay away from it and report it to spam if you can.

I’ve seen many profiles till now infected with this link spamming in all the groups, pages and timelines tagging each and every one of their friends. A message along with the link explaining how to install the theme would be posted on your timeline. Take a look at the screenshot of how it looks.

How is this spreading virally

When the link is clicked, his/her profile would have a status message of a screenshot of your disguised facebook profile posted on your wall. Later the spam application tags all of his/her friends in the comment section of the photo(screenshot) there by notifying every possible person in the friend list. When tagged, it is shown on their friends of friends walls too. This ‘viral-spread’ feature is one of the factors that made facebook a great success and also prone to spams.

Remember these facts

• Facebook hasn’t officially launched any theme changing options yet.
• There is no such trust worthy third party application to change the theme.
• Any web application should not spam.
• Can you see the change to your facebook profile? You can’t because it’s spam.
